KEYOUT Terms of Use
Version: 2026-1. Effective: 2026-11-05.
These terms describe the launch service. They take effect only on publication. KEYOUT is operated from British Columbia, Canada. In these terms, “KEYOUT”, “we” and “us” mean the operator trading under the KEYOUT brand. Contact: support@keyout.app. KEYOUT is a trading name, not a claim that the operator is incorporated.
1. Accepting these terms
Before first use, read the current terms and actively agree using the initially unticked box and the “Agree and continue” button. We record your account, the terms version and the server's time of acceptance. When the terms change, you must accept the new version before using the app again. Signing in or paying alone does not record agreement.
These terms do not take away rights or remedies that the law says cannot be excluded. Where a limitation below is not allowed by applicable law, that law controls.
2. An arithmetic aid; check every fit
KEYOUT lists combinations using the brick sizes you enter. With joints off, totals are dry outer sizes only, with no mortar. With joints on, totals include only the joint sizes and placements you chose. Joint settings belong to each brick set and are carried with a copy. Adding chosen joints is arithmetic; it does not decide the correct mortar, joint thickness or placement for a job.
KEYOUT does not account for brick tolerances, thermal expansion, damaged bricks, engineering specifications or site conditions. It does not design or certify a kiln, ring, arch or lining, and a result is not an engineering recommendation or safety approval. Rounded displays are not a substitute for the actual measurements and an on-site check.
You are responsible for being trained and competent for the work. Check the input sizes, every result and every fit on site. Follow the refractory manufacturer's specifications, your employer's instructions, applicable engineering requirements and safety rules. You alone decide whether a combination and any joints are suitable and are responsible for the work and its results. Practice sets are examples to check, not approved specifications for your job.
3. Accounts and the two products
Bricklayer: $75.00 USD, one-time, lifetime access. Includes the calculator, saved sets, personal stars, sets companies share with you, and CLOCKOUT. Bricklayers cannot share sets.
Contractor / manufacturer: $300.00 USD, one-time. Includes the calculator, sharing up to 500 sets with approved users, and ring chart details. CLOCKOUT is not included.
“Lifetime” means the life of the KEYOUT service, not your lifetime or a promise that the service will operate forever. Each bricklayer needs their own paid $75 account, including people on a company's approved-users list. The $300 pays only for the company's account. There is no upgrade path from the $75 product to the $300 product; they are separate purchases.
At launch, bricklayers may keep up to 20 personal saved sets, including copies. Each set may contain up to 8 brick types. New calculations are limited to 2 per minute per user; reusing finished results does not count as a new calculation. These limits may change under section 11.
Accounts use an email address and a one-time magic sign-in link, with no password. A sign-in lasts up to one year, subject to sign-out, expiry, account deletion or access being withdrawn. One device may be signed in per account at a time; signing in on another replaces the earlier session. Keep your email inbox, sign-in links and devices secure. Do not forward a sign-in link or let someone else use your account. Tell support if you suspect misuse.
Public sign-up and purchases remain closed until launch. An account, payment redirect or checkout success page alone does not grant access. The server grants paid access after the payment provider's verified notification, except for authorized operator-created test access.
4. Your licence and permitted outputs
Your purchase gives one user a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the purchased product for its intended work while the service is available and these terms are met. A company account is also for one user; it is not a crew licence. We retain ownership of the service, software, brand and calculation technology. You retain your rights in what you enter and allow us to store, process, back up and display it only as needed to provide the service, including sharing you choose.
You may print result sheets and timesheets and download the outputs the app offers for your work. Approved recipients may use the app's copy function for shared brick sets as section 5 describes. These permissions do not grant a licence to copy or redistribute the software or the calculation technology.
Do not share or resell an account, transfer the licence, copy or redistribute the software, scrape or systematically harvest results or shared sets, reverse engineer the service or its calculation technology, evade access controls or usage limits, or use the service unlawfully. These restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
5. Shared brick sets and confidentiality
Only contractors and manufacturers can share, and only with the email addresses on their approved-users list. There is no public sharing or community listing. Adding an approved email does not create an employment relationship, invitation or authority to view that person's hours. Stars are personal and are never shared. Company names are not verified at launch.
The sharing company is responsible for its sets, descriptions, ring chart details and accuracy, and for having permission to share them. KEYOUT does not check or endorse shared sets. Before using or copying a set, check it against the manufacturer's current spec sheet and your job's requirements. We may remove shared content that breaches these terms or the law.
You can copy a shared set into a new private set you own; you cannot change the source owner's set. A copy of another company's set cannot be shared on, including by a company account. Respect the sharing company's confidentiality and do not redistribute its confidential content outside these permissions. Removing an approval or deleting a source set does not recall copies already made into another account or sheets already printed.
6. CLOCKOUT is your personal record
CLOCKOUT is available only with a bricklayer account. It records work, breaks, night shifts, travel, distance and the details you enter. Check the dates, times, break deductions, totals and exports yourself. CLOCKOUT is a personal hours record, not a payroll service, certified payroll record, legal time record or employment-law advice. It does not decide wages, overtime or legal entitlements. Keep any records your employer or the law requires separately.
Only the worker can view their hours through an account. Naming a contractor or client, or receiving a company's shared set, gives that company no access to hours. You choose whether to give anyone a printed sheet or downloaded file. Spreadsheet and PDF outputs have no password or file encryption; protect them yourself.
7. Payments and refunds
Stripe Managed Payments is the merchant of record, with Link handling the customer payment experience. The provider and its applicable checkout terms will be shown when you pay. It handles applicable sales taxes; review the final checkout total. KEYOUT receives payment status and references, not your card details.
Both products have a full 3-day money-back guarantee, instead of a free trial. Request a refund within 3 days of purchase (72 hours after server-confirmed payment) through Account → Refund my purchase, by contacting support@keyout.app or using the receipt's provider support route. No reason is required. The Refund Policy explains the process. Refunds and chargebacks remove access automatically when processed. A request to delete an account does not itself request a refund, and a lifetime purchase is not refundable after the guarantee period except where applicable law requires otherwise.
8. Deleting or restoring your account
You may request deletion through the account controls or support@keyout.app. Access pauses when deletion is requested. Your account and its data, including your owned sets, shared source sets, hours and settings, are permanently deleted within 30 days. You can re-enable the account at any time before permanent deletion runs within that period. Restoration brings back access only if the usual sign-in, terms and paid-access requirements are met. Deletion does not reverse a refund or chargeback.
Save any needed printed sheets or exports before requesting deletion. Copies owned by another user and files you or a recipient exported are outside your account; account deletion cannot recall them. The payment provider has its own obligations for transaction records. See the Privacy Policy for data handling and requests.
9. No warranty and limit of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service and its results are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability or error-free operation. Offline access depends on previously saved data and the condition of your device. Keep your own necessary records.
To the extent permitted by law, KEYOUT's total liability arising from the service or these terms is capped at the price you paid KEYOUT for the product giving rise to the claim. To the same extent, KEYOUT is not liable for lost time, lost materials, rework, shutdowns, lost income or profits, lost data, property damage, personal injury, or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here excludes liability or a remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
10. Claims arising from your use (indemnity)
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover reasonable losses, liabilities and legal costs arising from third-party claims caused by your use of results, your work, content you share, or your breach of these terms or the law. This does not require you to cover a claim to the extent caused by KEYOUT's own fault or liability that cannot lawfully be shifted to you.
11. Changes to prices, features and limits; service closure
We may change prices for new buyers at any time. What you already paid does not change, and a one-time purchase does not become an automatic recurring charge. We may add, change or remove features and offer new features separately, including optional paid add-ons or subscriptions, without taking away the core calculator you bought while the service operates.
We may change usage limits, including shared-set counts, calculation limits and approved-list size, to keep the service running. We will explain changes that affect existing use in advance and respect applicable consumer rights. Changes to these terms require a new version and renewed acceptance; they do not rewrite the version you previously accepted.
If the service closes, we will give advance notice so you can save the available outputs. You keep printed sheets and exported sets or other files already in your possession. This does not promise an export feature the app does not offer, or continued online access after closure.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access for account sharing, prohibited copying or scraping, unlawful use, misuse of shared content, evasion of limits or another breach of these terms. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and how to contact support about a mistake. A refund or chargeback also ends paid access. Ending access does not remove statutory rights or your right to request account deletion. Sections about responsibility, permitted retained outputs, liability, indemnity and applicable law continue to apply where relevant after access ends.
13. Governing law and contact
The laws of British Columbia, Canada, and the applicable federal laws of Canada govern these terms. Mandatory consumer or privacy protections and rights to use a court or regulator that cannot lawfully be excluded still apply. No compulsory arbitration or waiver of those rights is imposed by these terms.
